Biography

Tannis Andersen started her nursing career with a Diploma in Nursing from Medicine Hat College. She followed this with the completion of her Bachelor’s in Nursing from the University of Calgary and her Master’s in Nursing with a teaching focus from Athabasca University. The first part of her nursing career was spent in community and seniors’ health. While the latter part of her career has focused on primary care. Tannis has had the privilege to work in many capacities including frontline clinical care, team lead, instructor, consultant, manager, and director. Currently Tannis is a Clinical Nurse Specialist Primary Care for Interior Health. She also serves on the boards of the Clinical Nurse Specialist Association British Columbia and the Canadian Family Practice Nurses Association as a Member at Large.

Tannis lives in Kelowna, British Columbia within the ancestral, traditional, and unceded territory of the Syilx Nation. She is married and they have two children who provide them with great joy. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, painting, and walking.
